Day 1

Your journey begins in the sky.

As your aircraft navigates through narrow Himalayan valleys, you’ll witness a breathtaking panorama of peaks — Everest, Kanchenjunga, and Bhutan’s sacred mountains appearing like a quiet procession outside your window.

Landing in Paro is an experience in itself — dramatic, precise, unforgettable.

From here, you’ll travel to Thimphu (approx. 1 hour), Bhutan’s capital. After check-in and time to settle:

  • Visit the National Memorial Chorten, where locals gather in quiet devotion, spinning prayer wheels in rhythmic circles

  • Stop at the General Post Office, known for Bhutan’s beautifully designed collectible stamps

  • Wander through the Craft Bazaar, filled with handmade textiles, jewellery and traditional artefacts

This first day is gentle, an introduction to Bhutan’s pace, its stillness, its rhythm.

Overnight: Thimphu

Day 2

After breakfast, step deeper into Bhutanese culture.

Start your morning at Buddha Dordenma, a towering statue overlooking the valley. The scale is impressive, but it’s the silence around it that stays with you.

Continue to:

  • Takin Preserve – home to Bhutan’s unusual national animal

  • Zilukha Nunnery – perched on a hillside, offering calm and wide valley views

In the afternoon:

  •  Visit Simtokha Dzong, one of Bhutan’s oldest fortresses, rich with history and symbolism

  • Explore a traditional paper factory, where handmade paper is still produced using centuries-old techniques

  • End the day at Centenary Farmers Market, where locals gather among colourful stalls of fresh produce and handmade goods

Overnight: Thimphu

Day 3

Today, the landscape opens.

Drive through winding mountain roads to Dochula Pass (3,100m / 10,170 ft), where 108 white chortens stand against the sky. On a clear day, the Himalayan range stretches endlessly beyond them.

Continue to Punakha:

  • Walk through rice fields to Chimi Lhakhang, the famous fertility temple

  • Visit Punakha Dzong, one of Bhutan’s most striking fortresses, set between two rivers

  • Cross the Suspension Bridge, gently swaying above the valley below

The air here feels softer, warmer, a shift from mountain crispness to river valley calm.

Overnight: Punakha

Day 4

A long drive, but one that reveals Bhutan’s layers.

You’ll cross Pele La Pass (3,420m / 11,220 ft), marking the transition between western and eastern Bhutan. Prayer flags ripple across the ridges like quiet conversations with the wind.

Stop at:

  • Chendebji Chorten, an elegant stupa inspired by Nepal’s Boudhanath

In Trongsa:

  • Visit Trongsa Dzong, a vast fortress with deep historical significance

  • Pause for lunch before continuing into Bumthang

As you descend into Bumthang Valley, something shifts, the atmosphere becomes more spiritual, more rooted.

Overnight: Bumthang

Day 5

This is Bhutan’s spiritual heart.

Begin your day at:

  • Kurjey Lhakhang, where Guru Rinpoche meditated

  • Jambay Lhakhang, one of the oldest temples in Bhutan, steeped in ritual and legend

After lunch:

  • Visit Tamshing Lhakhang, known for its ancient murals and religious significance

  • Continue to Mebar Tsho (Burning Lake), a sacred and mystical site surrounded by forest

Optional:

  • Stop at a local cheese factory to taste Bumthang’s famous Gouda

  • Try Red Panda beer, locally brewed and unexpectedly delightful

Overnight: Bumthang

Day 6

Begin the return journey through Bhutan’s vast landscapes.

Stop again at Chendebji Chorten, then continue towards Wangdue before heading into Phobjikha Valley, one of Bhutan’s most untouched regions.

Here:

  • Wide, open landscapes replace dense valleys

  • In winter months, black-necked cranes arrive from Tibet

Visit:

  • Gangtey Monastery, overlooking the valley with quiet authority

Phobjikha feels different more open, more contemplative, almost dreamlike.

Overnight: Phobjikha

Day 7

After breakfast, begin your journey back west.

Stops include:

  • Wangdue Phodrang Dzong, dramatically positioned above river confluence

  • Scenic drive via Dochula Pass once more

Arrive in Paro and explore:

  • Paro Dzong, a masterpiece of Bhutanese architecture

  • National Museum (Ta Dzong), offering insight into Bhutan’s history and culture

The journey begins to circle back, but it feels different now.

Overnight: Paro

Day 8

This is the moment most travellers carry with them long after the journey ends.

The hike to Tiger’s Nest Monastery (3,120m / 10,240 ft) takes around 4–5 hours round trip.

The path winds through forest, prayer flags, and viewpoints that reveal the monastery slowly, until suddenly, it appears, impossibly perched on the cliffside.

Legend says Guru Rinpoche flew here on a tigress.

Standing there… it doesn’t feel like a legend.

After lunch at a hillside café:

  • Return to Paro

  • Enjoy a relaxed stroll through town

Overnight: Paro

Day 9

After breakfast, transfer to Paro Airport. Our representatives will bid you farewell to your onward destination.
