How It All Started
My Asia Tours was founded in Bhutan in 2012 by licensed guide and travel specialist Mr. Kenzang Gyeltshen, following more than two decades of hands-on experience leading cultural, trekking and photography journeys across the country.
Working closely with international travellers, he recognised a growing desire for thoughtfully designed, locally led journeys — travel that moved beyond sightseeing to genuine cultural connection. The idea for My Asia Tours emerged from this understanding: to create a Bhutanese-owned, fully licensed travel company offering bespoke itineraries shaped by local knowledge and delivered with international standards of service. From the beginning, the focus was on quality rather than volume. Each journey was carefully planned, every route selected with purpose, and every experience grounded in respect for Bhutan’s culture, landscapes and traditions.
Today, My Asia Tours operates with offices in Bhutan, the United Kingdom, Switzerland and Nepal, delivering tailor-made travel across Bhutan and the Himalayan region. While the company has grown internationally, it remains rooted in the values that shaped its first journeys: authenticity, discretion and thoughtful service.
