Kingdom of Happiness
A cultural journey through Bhutan’s sacred valleys, exploring Paro, Thimphu and Punakha. Discover living Buddhist traditions, iconic monasteries and the philosophy of Gross National Happiness.

Cultural Journey Through Bhutan
This journey offers a thoughtful introduction to Bhutan, a Himalayan kingdom internationally recognised for its pioneering philosophy of Gross National Happiness (GNH), a development model that places cultural preservation, environmental stewardship, spiritual wellbeing and good governance at the heart of national life. Overseen through Bhutan’s GNH framework and institutions, this approach defines the country’s unique path, prioritising collective wellbeing over purely economic growth.
Often referred to as the Land of the Peaceful Dragon, Bhutan lies nestled between India and China, protected by dramatic Himalayan landscapes and guided by centuries-old Buddhist traditions. From sacred monasteries and fortress dzongs to fertile valleys and forested mountain passes, daily life in Bhutan remains deeply connected to spirituality, nature and community. This cultural journey explores Bhutan’s living heritage through its historic valleys, traditional architecture and enduring customs, offering insight into a society that has consciously chosen balance over speed and continuity over excess.
Carefully preserved traditions, environmental conservation and mindful travel practices continue to shape Bhutan as one of the world’s most culturally intact and meaningful destinations.
