Day 1

Your journey begins with a spectacular flight into Paro International Airport, one of the most scenic landings in the Himalayas, with views of snow-capped peaks including Everest and Jomolhari.


Upon arrival, transfer to Thimphu, Bhutan’s capital (approx. 1 hour drive), following the Paro and Thimphu rivers through forested valleys.


In the afternoon, begin your introduction to Bhutanese culture with visits to:


  • National Memorial Chorten, an important spiritual site where locals gather daily for prayer

Travel from Thimphu to Punakha, one of Bhutan’s most scenic drives.

Descending into Punakha Valley, the landscape shifts to a warmer climate with rice fields and river valleys.

Upon arrival in Phobjikha:

  • Walk the Gangtey Nature Trail, a gentle hike offering panoramic views of the glacial valley

  • Approx. 4–5 hours round trip
